WINDOWS VISTA™ Communicate, collaborate, and explore your digital world – with Microsoft Windows Vista and XPC, you have the ultimate in efficiency tools along with everything you need and love at your fingertips.
When you begin to use Windows Vista™, you will recognize familiar elements such as the Start menu, which is now faster and more streamlined and helpful than any previous Windows version. The Start menu features an integrated desktop search through a new feature called, “Instant Search,” which will help you find and launch almost any application or file on your PC by simply typing in a word, name, or phrase. In addition, the new Start menu allows you to navigate all of the applications installed on your PC with ease.
THE LATEST MULTI-CORE POWER
Dual & Quad Core processing power Power all the applications of today and tomorrow with the latest dual- and quad-core processors available for XPC from Intel and AMD.With the power of multi core processors, you can run multiple intensive applications at once without slowing down.
BIOMETRIC FINGERPRINT READER Fingerprint biometrics is a convenient and secure way to protect your information. With an added a layer of security protection through the integrated biometric fingerprint reader, you can keep your digital identity and data more secure and no longer worry about having to memorize for memorizing multiple passwords.
INNOVSTIVE SPEED-LINK TECHNOLOGY File sharing among 2 PCs has never been easier with the innovative USB Speed-Link technology, simply connects both systems through a standard USB cable without having the hassle of driver installation or worry about insufficient space of a DVD disc.
COOLING TECHNOLOGY
The quiet cooling power of I.C.E. XPC uses patented Shuttle I.C.E. heat pipe technology that traps heat and passes it to a single fan that releases the air outside the computer. This technology enables XPC to be energy-efficient which increases performance while remaining one of the quietest PCs in the world.
The ICE heat-pipe module uses convection cooling to transfer heat away from the processor. Copper tubing, coated in nickel and filled with distilled water provides the conduit through which heat passes to a radiator. A quiet, speed controlled 92mm ducted fan covers the radiator, providing both processor cooling and case exhaust.Evey XPC uses this patented cooling technology to prevent heat damage and deliver some of the quietest computers available.
OASIS Cooling Technology Within the best performing platform is the top performance cooler, the newly designed Shuttle OASIS Cooling Technology delivers just that. Specially designed 3-part heat-sinks interconnected by convection cooling pipes covering the North Bridge, South Bridge and MOSFET modules effectively dissipate heat without the use for fans. Featuring all-new heat pipe designs, Shuttle OASIS allows users to enjoy longer component lifetime through lower temperatures and added system stability all in a silent operational environment.
POWER
Pin-drop silence compliments of SilentX Power Supply Optimized for noise prevention, SilentX technology employs a high-performance fan that outputs a mere 32 decibels while under full system load (about the same decibel range as a very soft whisper). Especially noticeable in office environments, SilentX reduces noise pollution dramatically for a truly quiet computing experience.
Think green: Use 70% less electricity With an Energy Star qualified XPC, you’re doing your part to use less power, lowering your energy bill, while lessening negative impact on the environment. Over its lifetime, an Energy Star qualified XPC can save enough electricity to light an entire home for more than 4 years.
New 80 PLUS® Certified Power Supply - Available on the New Prima Series The 80 PLUS ® performance specification is a standard which requires power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy-efficient. This makes an 80 PLUS® certified power supply at least 33% more efficient than current power supplies.
What are the benefits of an 80% efficient power supply? The 80% efficient power supply offers a range of potential rewards which benefit you financially while helping the environment by reducing power consumption: Increased power supply reliability due to greater efficiency Decreased system maintenance due to increased reliability Lower TCO due to reduced maintenance and longer equipment life Improved worker environment with less noise from the PC Potential reduction in cooling bill due to less heat being generated by PCs How is an 80% efficient power supply different from a traditional power supply? An 80% efficient power supply is at least 80% efficient at 20%, 50%, and 100% loads whereas current power supplies range from 65-75% efficiency. 80% efficient power supplies are designed with active power factor correction (PFC). Active power factor correction uses an active circuit to help current and voltage correlate with each other. When this happens, apparent power and real power approach each other. Apparent power is the current drawn by a system, whereas real power is the current actually available for use by the system. If they are equal, then the power factor is 1. A .9 PFC means that 90% of apparent power is actually transferred to available real power. Power supplies that aren't power factor corrected tend to cause unpleasant variations in AC voltage that can affect or even damage other equipment on the same circuit.
